These larger chunks of Bismuth metal are ideal for growing Bismuth crystals and larger alloying projects/experiments. Bismuth is a chemical element, atomic number 83. Bismuth is heavy and non-toxic, so it is rapidly becoming a popular replacement for Lead in many applications. It is an unusual metal with some interesting properties, like that of repelling magnetic fields (diamagnetism). Beautiful rainbow colored crystals can be grown from the pure metal which are quite stunning. Because our bulk Bismuth is in large chunks, it is only sold by the pound.
