A quick user guide to ordering from United Nuclear


Ordering Online

Our website serves as the fastest and most convenient way to purchase all of your scientific equipment needs. Special ordering is available through our customer service team at [email protected]. Special requests may take up to 5 business days to process. 

In the case of a special request, we will send you an invoice via Square Payments. United Nuclear does not use PayPal.

All website orders are processed through We have trusted them for over a decade for their security and reliability. In the interest of keeping your data safe, United Nuclear does NOT store any customer credit card information on file.  

Once your order has been shipped you will be emailed an automated tracking number. Please verify your email address to be correct before confirming your order, or else you won’t get any tracking info!

Please note that orders totalling more than $300 will automatically opt-in for Adult Signature upon delivery. This is to protect your high-value shipments from theft and misdelivery. If you wish to refuse this service please leave your request in the 'special notes or comments' section upon checkout.


International Orders

We are now accepting credit card payments from all developed nations. Please note that certain items may only ship within the US, so products like Potassium Chlorate or Hydrochloric Acid aren't going to make it to the UK.

International shipping rates are automatically calculated on our website. Packages over 4 lbs. must ship via USPS Priority International which is typically 2-3 times the cost of USPS First Class International.

Our checkout page is calibrated for US addresses. If your international address cannot ‘fit’ in a US address form then please include additional information in the ‘special comments’ section upon checkout.


Purchase Orders

You may submit a purchase order by emailing [email protected]. We will only accept Purchase Orders that have been submitted with Net 0 terms.  

If we are required to setup a special account through a proprietary vendor portal then processing times will increase substantially.   

Direct credit card or ACH payment is always the preferred payment method.


Mail-in Orders

We’re happy to accommodate mail in orders from customers who are not comfortable with ordering online. Please follow the steps below for quick and accurate processing:

1. Print out our Order Form by clicking the link in the link in top left of our homepage.

2. Fill out your shipping address information including your contact information. If an issue comes up and we cannot contact you, then we have no way of reaching a resolution!

3. Enter all items that you wish to purchase. Use multiple forms if you run out of room. Make sure to include any product attributes such as size, weight, color, etc.

4. Total up the cost of merchandise.

5. Use the Shipping Table (bottom right of form) to calculate shipping costs based on merchandise costs.

6. Tally up the grand total.

7. Include payment with order. You may enclose either a Check, Money Order or Cashier’s Check. You can send Cash, but it’s at your own risk. Please do not include MoneyGrams or checks requiring a direct deposit. Mobile deposit is okay.

8. Address your mail-in order to our business address below. Make sure to put a stamp on the envelope and include a return address!

You may request to have certain changes made to your order before it has shipped. Please note that we cannot automatically add items to your order since we do not keep any of our customer’s credit card information on file.

If you are changing the shipping address to a completely different area then shipping charges are subject to change.

We do not combine orders. Each and every order must ship with its own unique tracking number.

We are able to provide information & assistance for your order up to 30 days after it has been shipped. Tracking numbers are recycled by all major carriers, so we can only offer support for a limited time.

If a package has been marked as ‘Delivered’ but it hasn’t arrived, then we urge you to reach out to your local post office for more information. There is nothing we can do to track down a package after it has been declared ‘delivered’.    




Please pay close attention to what you are buying!

If you are planning to return an item, please contact our customer service team for a return request.

All returns must be accompanied by information pertaining to the order. Ideally this will be the original packing slip, but you may also include a handwritten note detailing the order number, items purchased, and any issues with said items. 

Although very rare, if you did receive a defective item, please call or email us to arrange a return. We will supply you with a return label which may be handed off to your local delivery person or brought to your local UPS/USPS location. You will be reimbursed for your shipping fees when we send you your replacement or repaired item back to you.

Chemicals can never be returned or exchanged under any circumstances - make sure you are purchasing the proper chemicals for your application. If you have any doubts, please contact us.


Additional Details

     Orders are processed on a first-come, first served basis.

We do our best to keep all of our items in stock and available for effective processing. If your order is being held up by 1-2 items then we may place those items on backorder and ship the rest of your order while our restock arrives. If several items are out of stock then we will reach out to you and work out alternative arrangements.

Orders are typically fulfilled in 1 to 3 business days. Large & detailed orders may take 5-10 business days, especially if they include products that are handmade or specially packaged.

Shipping times are typically 2-7 business days within the continental US. International shipping times are not guaranteed and can range anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months. Unfortunately, we have no control over shipping processes once a package leaves the US.

We do not sell anything illegal. Everything we offer for sale is legal to purchase & own in the United States.

We do not sell explosives (including Black Powder and Flash Powder), nor do we furnish knowledge to make explosives.

United Nuclear reserves the right to cancel and/or refund any order, especially if we feel that you are juvenile posing as an adult, inexperienced with the materials ordered, using our products to make any sort of device that may cause harm or injury, or placing the order under false information/fraudulent terms.  

All packages containing hazardous chemicals will require an adult signature on delivery.

We do not give out our customer’s email addresses, phone numbers, or any other information to anyone.


Shipping & Liability

All packages are shipped via UPS or USPS at our discretion.

Certain chemicals, flammable items, or hazardous materials MUST ship UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage. This means that Hawaii, Alaska, and Peurto Rico are restricted from some items that are legal within the US but cannot ship via air.

All packages containing hazardous materials will require an adult signature on delivery. Make sure that you’ll be available to sign when the package is delivered.   

If you discover an item missing in your package, a defective item, or a broken item, please notify us within 3 business days. See the ‘Defective / Missing Items’ section below for more information.

United Nuclear Scientific is not liable for any damages or losses incurred during shipping. Our liability ends the moment the package is picked up by the carrier.

International Orders

All international packages are shipped via USPS first class, USPS Priority, or Global Post. United Nuclear does not cover additional shipping costs such as import taxes, VAT, or customs fees; we have no way of knowing what fees your country may tack onto incoming packages.


It is impossible for us to know the importation laws of each and every country. We kindly ask our international customers to consult their associated shipping and regulatory agency for further information. United Nuclear offers discrete yet truthful product descriptions on customs forms, however we are not liable for any package that is denied, delayed, or discarded by customs enforcement.


Defective Items

All mechanical & electrical items are thoroughly tested and securely packaged before shipping. If a defective item did slip by our quality control, then we will repair or replace it for free. Please test your new items immediately upon arrival and let us know within 3 days of delivery if you received a defective item.

Magnets are always inspected before they leave here. If you let your magnets fly together and they broke or shattered, you will have to purchase a new set if you'd like replacements. We do not replace broken magnets.

Autographed Items

Autographs are available upon request for the following items:

To request an autograph, simply leave a comment in the 'notes' section upon checkout.

Personalized autographs may also be requested but are subject to change if they are deemed to be: profane, demeaning, insulting, inflammatory, ridiculous, and/or propagation of incorrect information.

United Nuclear reserves the right to deny any personalized autograph request for any reason. In the case of a denial, a generic non-personalized autograph will be substituted.

If 'personalized autograph' is chosen, but no name is given in the comments section, then your autograph will not be addressed to anybody.
