WARNING! - SPECIAL NOTICE ! - WARNING!
Beware - there are an increasing number of firms & individuals selling counterfeit Trinitite.
Because of its scarcity and rapidly increasing value, there have been several people (and companies) selling bogus Trinitite on internet auction sites, as well as on several web pages.
To the untrained eye, this counterfeit Trinitite may seem genuine, but it certainly is not.
The old adage "you get what you pay for" certainly applies here.
The only sure fire way to determine if your sample is genuine, is to test it for specific fission isotopes.
This can only be done accurately with a Mass Spectrometer.
Actual Trinitite contains nuclear fission byproducts that were melted into the sand during the fireball phase of the atomic bomb detonation. Under analysis, these specific isotopes show up as sharp peaks on a Mass Spectrometer. We test and analyze all our samples in this way.
Some Trinitite counterfeiters have even gone so far as to add small amounts of radioactive material into their Trinitite to make it appear genuine.
Even sophisticated counterfeit samples such as these, clearly show up as fakes during Mass Spectrometer testing. Rest assured, any Trinitite sample purchased from us is absolutely genuine.
EVERY sample of Trinitite we sell is tested for authenticity on a $50,000 Mass Spectrometer, and we absolutely guarantee it to be genuine.
A certificate of Measured Radiation and authenticity is included with all Trinitite samples.
