Methyl Alcohol (also known as Methanol) is a flammable, colorless, chemical compound with a distinctive odor. Methyl Alcohol is commonly used as a fuel in high performance internal combustion racing engines, as a power source in Direct Conversion Methanol Fuel Cells, and in a wide variety of chemical and industrial applications as a solvent and antifreeze. During World War II, Methanol was used as a fuel in several German military rocket designs, under name M-Stoff, and in a mixture as C-Stoff.
