47K micro Resistor
A 47,000 ohm (47K) resistor across the earphone terminals of a typical crystal radio circuit dramatically improves the audio quality in sensitive crystal earphones. These are very tiny 1/8 watt, 47K resistors. Because of their small size (about the size of a grain of rice) they can be concealed in or under base of your radio to maintain a clean appearance.
