Sulfur
chemical element: S
( fine powder )
A chemical element (atomic number 16), Sulfur is used in a tremendous number of chemical formulas & manufacturing processes from the production of batteries and detergents, to fertilizers and fireworks. Amorphous or "plastic" Sulfur can be produced by pouring molten Sulfur into cold water. Elemental sulfur is odorless. It occurs naturally, and burns with a blue flame that emits Sulfur Dioxide, notable for its peculiar suffocating odor. Sulfur is insoluble in water but soluble in Carbon Disulfide. This is high quality ACS/Reagent grade Sulfur, ideal for all chemistry & laboratory uses, not to be confused with the useless low-grade fertilizer Sulfur.
