An important chemical in the field of pyrotechnics, Barium Nitrate is both an oxidizer and a coloring agent that imparts a green color to flames. It also finds use in the manufacture of vacuum tubes. Keep in a tightly closed container, it has a bad habit of absorbing moisture from the air and getting quite hard and chunky.
