Antimony is a brittle, crystalline silvery white solid. Its most common use is include alloying with Lead to make fishing lures, bullets, casting alloys and ball mill media. Adding even small amounts (~12%) greatly increases the hardness and mechanical strength of lead.
Although it has a high melting temperature of 1166°F, it will actually slowly melt in molten Lead at about 622°F, combining, and forming a strong alloy.
