Based on our famous Europium UltraGlow® phosphorescent powder, Europium UltraGlow® Paint is a Rare-Earth based glow-in-the-dark paint. It is the brightest, longest lasting, non-toxic glow-in-the-dark paint known.
When dry, UltraGlow® Paint is permanent, water resistant, and if used on fabric, it is completely machine washable.
Simply Expose UltraGlow® Paint to Sunlight (or bright light) for at least one full minute to activate the green glow.
The longer it is exposed to light, the longer and brighter the afterglow will be. UltraGlow® reaches it maximum 'charge' in about 10 to 15 minutes of bright white light. UV light (Blacklight) will charge the material up about twice as fast. Of course, UltraGlow® also glows at full brilliance under UV light as long as the UV light is shining on it.
Fully dries in about 24 hours and is both Non-Toxic & Non-Radioactive. This new technology glow paint has an extremely long afterglow time. In a totally dark room, even after 12 to 15 hours of full light exposure, you can still clearly see the glow of the paint. As with all phosphorescent materials, the initial glow is far brighter, quickly tapering down to a medium glow, and then slowly tapering to a low level glow for many, many hours. It has unlimited uses both practicle and for fun - it's really cool stuff to play with.
In daylight, the paint itself is an off-white, pale greenish-yellow in color. The consistency is thick, about that of Elmer's glue.
Absolutely great for Gun Sights, Fishing Lures, Arts & Crafts, or anything you want to glow in the dark.

UltraGlow® Paint is currently only available in Green glow color at this time.

General Info & Charging with Light Sources
Sunlight, ordinary indoor lighting as well as UV (blacklight) can be used to "charge up" Europium UltraGlow® Paint. The more UV wavelengths the light contains, the faster it will charge. Bright sunlight (3,000 - 50,000 lux light level) will charge up the powder the fastest, requiring only 5 minutes of exposure. A 'workshop type' Fluorescent lamp (500 lux light level) is rich in UV light - holding the powder close to a bright fluorescent lamp will charge it up in about 10 minutes. An ordinary 60 watt incandescent (tungsten filament) lamp (30 to 50 lux light level) will take 30 minutes to charge up the powder due to the lack of UV wavelengths in the light produced by incandescent bulbs. UV (blacklights) will charge up the UltraGlow® Paint extremely fast.
The following is information for those that are interested in some of the more technical aspects of UltraGlow:
The Excitation Energy is 200nm to 450nm. Peak Emission Wavelength is 520nm. Europium UltraGlow® Paint has excellent Light Fastness compared to other glow materials. Other glow paints will degrade if constantly exposed to bright light. In 15 to 100 hours of exposure, the glow properties of ordinary glow paints become permanently reduced to a fraction of what they originally were. Not so with Europium UltraGlow® Paint! Even after 1,000 hours under direct exposure to intense mercury vapor light, Europium UltraGlow® Paint retains 96% of its glow output.
In short, Europium UltraGlow® Paint is a revolutionary glow-in-the-dark material. Its only limit is the user's imagination.
Glow Intensity & Duration
Most people unfamiliar with Phosphorescent material have unrealistic expectation of how it performs. Europium UltraGlow® Paint & Powders are a new generation of glow material much different than the old Zinc Sulfide based glow products of the past. In daylight, all the Europium UltraGlow® products appear off-white in color. When fully charged, all glow powders will produce a very bright afterglow for a short time (around 10 minutes or so), then level off to a moderate level of brightness, slowly dimming over the remainder of their glow duration. Green Europium UltraGlow® Paint & Powder will remain clearly visible for as long as 33 hours. The length of time a glow paint or powder is said to 'glow' is defined as the time it takes for the afterglow brightness to diminish to 0.32 mcd (0.32 mcd is 100 times the Human visible perception limit). Even at this level, the glow is clearly visible in darkness. Obviously, the level of glow at 14 hours is not nearly as bright as it is at 10 minutes after light exposure, but you can plainly see it glowing in the dark well past 14 hours.
UltraGlow® paint can be used as a fluorescent paint too - it will glow at absolute full brightness if held under a UV (blacklight) - as long as the light is shining on it.
