Sodium Polyacrylate (DP) is a non-expanding version of our standard Sodium Polyacrylate polymer. The DP means 'Diaper Polymer' as it is the absorbent material used in baby diapers. Sodium Polyacrylate (DP) can absorb between 500 and 1,000 times its own weight in water. It is one of the superabsorbent polymer gels, known as a polyelectrolyte. This long-chain polymer is absolutely amazing to see absorb water and with a minimal expansion in volume. This material is similar to our standard Sodium Polyacrylate which expands 100 to 200 times its original volume when it comes into contact with water. The DP version is great for any application which requires rapid absorption of water and minimum expansion. Completely safe & non-toxic.
