Potassium Ferricyanide (also
known as 'Prussian Red' is soluble in water and its solution shows some
green-yellow fluorescence. It has widespread used in blueprint drawing and
in photography. It is also used to temper Iron and Steel, in
electroplating, dyeing wool and as a mild oxidizing agent in organic
chemistry. Potassium Ferricyanide does not exhibit the deadly toxicity
found in many Cyanide compounds due to the strong chemical bonds between
the Iron and Cyanide groups.
