commonly to store and transport alkali metals such as Sodium & Potassium. The oil prevents the metals from reacting with atmospheric moisture.
Due to its excellent electrical insulating properties, Mineral Oil is also used as transformer oil
to cool and prevent arc-over
between the wire windings.
