Its high purity makes it perfect for all laboratory and manufacturing uses/applications. Primarily used to produce various metal alloys (its addition to stainless steel alloys provides corrosion resistance) and finds widespread use in electroplating. Chromium can be polished to a very high luster and reflects 70% of the visible light and 90% of infrared light applied to it.
