Strontium Peroxide is a fairly powerful oxidizer that imparts a bright Red color to flames. For this reason, it is frequently used in pyrotechnics as both an oxidizer and a colorant.
Primary uses are for the production of red color in signal lights, marine flares and Military tracer ammunition. It also finds some use in specialized bleaching formulations.
