Professional Geiger Counter

Starting at: $725.00

This is the one and only Geiger Counter used by virtually every Research, Nuclear & Government Facility in the USA, not to mention Hospitals, Emergency Response Teams, Homeland Security, etc. (and of course all of us here at United Nuclear). There are other Geiger Counters that claim to be 'professional' quality but you'll find they don't measure up. Government & research facilities have the finances to purchase any Geiger Counter they want - this is what they buy.
The reason this is the gold standard of all Geiger Counters is simply because it is the best. Not plastic encased like so many inexpensive units, but fabricated from extruded 6061 aircraft aluminum plate. This unit can take abuse and is designed for in-the-field use. It features O-ring seals and unlike plastic cased units, the extruded aluminum casing is highly EMP resistant (should any nuclear bombs detonate above you).
Easy to operate and high precision. Brand new, factory fresh, and fully warranted for a period of 1 year.
Each unit is individually calibrated, tested and certified - which is included in the price - something other manufacturers will charge you extra for. Modern IC technology and state-of-the-art design make this a fantastically accurate and reliable unit. Perfect for just about any radiological use, the United Nuclear Professional Geiger Counter is used by Scientists, Prospectors, Border Patrols, Hobbyists, Homeland Security, Rock Collectors Engineers and Technicians.
The technology used in this unit is so advanced, it is not permitted to be sold outside the USA by the State Department.
The Professional Geiger Counter is sold in various forms and with optional accessories, can be quickly altered to meet your requirements for just about any radiation detection application.

The Professional Geiger Counter with the Pancake probe.

For general use, we recommend our standard configuration (shown above), which is what most customers purchase. It consists of the Professional Geiger Counter with our high sensitivity Alpha/Beta/Gamma Probe (also known as a 'Pancake' probe). This allows the user to detect all common forms of radiation such as Alpha, Beta, Gamma and X-Ray. The cable that connects the probe to the unit is of course included.

The Professional Geiger Counter with Hot Dog probe (left) and Scintillator probe (right).

For those with special applications in mind, the unit is also available with our solid Stainless Steel Beta/Gamma ('Hot Dog') probe for detecting Beta, Gamma and X-Ray radiation. You may also purchase it with a Scintillator probe which is a very advanced type of detector that utilizes a 1" x 1" Sodium Iodide (NaI) crystal. This type of probe can only detect Gamma radiation, but it is so incredibly sensitive, it can even be used in an airplane to pick up radioactive areas below.
Depending on your particular application, additional probes may be purchased and quickly interchanged for detecting specific forms of radiation, intensities, etc.
The Professional Geiger Counter comes complete with a small radioactive source so you can test the unit at any time. It uses 2 ordinary "D" batteries
