Typical Uranium Ore sample
Radiation Range ' A ' (1,000 to 3,000 CPM)
Uranium Ore samples in the 1,000 to 3,000 CPM radiation range are ideal for beginning collectors or as an inexpensive radiation source. Samples typically measure anywhere from about 2" across to 3.5" across.
Ore samples are generally a combination of the following Uranium minerals: Carnotite (bright yellow), Uraninite (black crystal), Pitchblende (jet black), Uranophane (canary yellow), Gummite (rust brown), Tyuyamunite (pale green), Schroeckingerite (greenish-yellow) Uranium Ores.
Although they are safe to handle with your hands, it is prudent to wash your hands after handling the samples to prevent ingesting radioactive chips or fine particles that may fall off of the rocks.
As with all our Uranium ore samples, a certificate
stating your sample's precise radiation
measurement & associated information is included with your purchase.
Like all radioactive samples sold by United Nuclear, the radiation levels measured are
combined Beta and Gamma radiation.
We never include Alpha radiation measurements as that produces a deceivingly high reading.
