Some materials do fluoresce under UV light, but are too difficult to pick out of the background 'fringe' UV wavelengths. These high-impact glasses dramatically enhance fluorescent objects when using UV light. Unwanted wavelengths are filtered out, leaving a high contrast between objects that exhibit UV fluorescence and background UV. The glasses are very handy when searching an area or examining an object with a UV light - specifically in situations where you don't want to miss something. Examples would be UV light/Luminol blood detection at a crime scene, inspecting rooms for rodent urine, etc. They really make the weakly fluorescent spots or objects show up where you would normally miss them.

Caution - These glasses are designed to enhance objects that are illuminated with UV light.
