Our stunning Mineral Poster is a must-have for anyone interested in rock collecting, minerals, gems, etc. The poster shows a whopping 162 specimens, carefully selected to include those most likely to be encountered by the student or collector. Over 20,000 photographs were reviewed to select specimens that would best show a diversity of color, habit, luster and crystals. These magnificent minerals are presented by class: native elements, carbonates, sulfates, sulfides, halides, oxides, phosphates, organics and silicates. The silicates are such a large group that the bottom three rows are devoted to them. They are grouped by sub-class, such as neosilicates, sorosilicates, and cyclosilicates. All popular gemstones are also shown. The 24" x 36" poster is sealed in a heavy crystal clear plastic laminate making it waterproof and very resistant to damage.

Butterfly Poster

The same quality as out Mineral poster, our Butterflies of the World poster is a must-have for anyone interested in insects or (obviously) butterflies. This is a strikingly colorful & beautiful poster.
The Lepidoptera order/clade contains the butterflies and moths. There are over 180,000 known species. In general, butterflies fly during the day and moths at night. The most obvious difference between them is the feeders or antennae. Most butterflies have thin, slender filamentous ones which are club-shaped at the end. Moths on the other hand, often have comb-like or feathery antennae, or ones that are filamentous and unclubbed. This stunningl poster shows over 100 of the most colorful butterflies., as well as a few moths. The captions cite the common name, biological name, and where they are found. These beautiful insects are grouped by continent or other geographic area. Unique globe and arrow icons identify the location.

high-grade. It was printed in Pennsylvania on a 73" sheet-fed press using 100lb. cover stock with
heavy gloss varnish.
Countless hours were spent working with the printers to get the color separations just right.

Every element has a pretty side, and we've tried to give each one a chance to show off what makes it unique and beautiful.
For example, the noble gases are represented by discharge tubes that display their characteristic colors in an electric arc. Iodine was photographed while being heated from below to bring out the distinctive and lovely purple
vapor it gives off at elevated temperatures. Niobium is represented by an ultra-high purity crystal ribbon, an attractive form that few people have ever seen. Silicon, in contrast, is represented by a relatively low-purity sample,
but one that is just plain good-looking.
The poster is printed from a 1.4GB composite file with a resolution of 520 dpi (at 53" wide) on a MAN Roland 900XXL 73" sheet-fed offset press, the first of its kind installed in the US. Stochastic dithering (instead
of conventional halftone screening) results in an extra-sharp image, aided by the high registration accuracy of the press. The images come from Theo's library of over a thousand element samples, many collected or re-photographed
specially for this poster. (A few highly unstable elements show a picture of the person or place after which the element is named, or a mineral that contains trace amounts of the element.)
This poster is outstanding in its large format - it is over 2 feet high x 4 feet wide.

Periodic Table of the Elements 3D Poster

3D (Lenticular) Periodic Table Poster
Another excellent & unique Periodic Table of the Elements poster from Theodore Gray.
Here's something you definitely haven't seen before...
This poster incorporates Lenticular technology that uses linear lens elements laminated over a specially processed image to display different views to each eye, creating a convincing stereo 3D effect. The samples appear to stand out
from the surface.
Creating it required photographing every sample from 12 different angles. The prints measure
22" x 11.25" , the largest practical Lenticular size available... and they use a fine 110-lenses-per-inch screen. The Lenticular imaging layer makes the posters about 1/16" thick, which is similar to a plastic kitchen
placemat in thickness but larger in size.
The back side is filled with text giving the basic physical data about each element (atomic weight, melting point, boiling point, and density), and a three-line description of what each sample is, along with its approximate physical
size. (Please note that while the print quality is very good, Lenticular technology necessarily limits the sharpness of the images.

Periodic Table Card Deck

Periodic Table card deck is quite simply the most detailed, lush and beautiful set of cards ever produced on the subject of the chemical elements. This card deck is
perfect for any scientist, student or anyone who enjoys the periodic table of elements. Use this deck for flashcards or for interactive learning with the included activity suggestions.
The front of each card is a big beautiful photograph of the element (hand picked by creator Theodore Grey) while the back includes a description of the
sample shown and detailed scientific information about the element. It lists the atomic weight, density, melting point, boiling point, electro negativity, percent in the universe, percent in the Earth's crust,
percent in the oceans, percent in humans, crystal structure, and atomic radius. Other information also includes where and when the element was discovered, and interesting facts about the element.
The back side also shows a density bar on the left, phase change bars on the right, and electronic structure lines on the bottom. By stacking a handful
of elements, and sliding the deck slightly, students can see how density, melting point, boiling points, and electronic configuration trend by the automatically created bar graph.
Each card measures 5" square.
When all 118 elements are laid out, they form a periodic table that's over 7-1/2 feet wide!
