Replica Fossils

|

|
United Nuclear Scientific is proud to offer a wide variety of museum quality replica fossils.
Actual fossils of the fossils shown can cost upwards of $100,000 - these replica fossils are made from actual castings of the original fossils.
They look & feel like the actual fossils, but are just a small fraction of the cost.
Our replica fossils are hand cast, painted, and finished by a leading prehistoric fossil manufacturer and cast using their proprietary, pre-colored MuseumStone casting medium.
This produces the superior fine cast demanded by museums and learning institutions worldwide.
These fossils are absolutely precise, scientifically accurate, replicas of museum quality fossil specimens. State-of-the-art high-fidelity molds taken from actual museum specimens and
cast by prehistoric sculptors and artists.
Each one is truly a work of art in itself.
These are wonderful for museums, schools, personal collections, and as a gift for those interested in prehistoric fossils/dinosaurs. |
Individual Specimens

Banjo Fish Fossil
(Blemnobatis sismondae)

|

|
Banjo Fish
This fish lived during the Jurassic period on the bottom of an ancient ocean. It had a flat body and expanded front fins. It ate soft bodied, boneless animals from the ocean floor. Its closest living relative is a "Banjo Fish."
The original fossil was found at the Solnhofen limestone formation in Bavaria, Germany.
Fossil measures: 18" long x 10.25" wide.
|

Trilobite Fossil
(Phacops rana)

|

|
Trilobite
This original fossil is a famous specimen that is housed in the Smithsonian. It was found about 20 years ago and is one of the most spectacular Trilobite plates ever found. This 'mass mortality plate' consists of over 20 complete specimens (1" to 3" in length) on 14" long x 9.5" wide substrate.
|

Puffin Fossil
(Puffinus Diatomica)

|

|
Puffin
The original fossil of this extinct Puffin bird was found in South Carolina, USA. It lived during the Miocene age.
Fossil measures: 12.75" long x 8" wide.
|

Allosaurus Fossil
(Allosaurs)

|

|
Allosaurus
The Allosaurus was the main carnivore of his time (the mid-Jurassic period of about 150 million years ago).
It reached a length of 45 feet and most likely ate
smaller dinosaurs like The Stegosaurs.
Most of the world's specimens of Allosaur skeletons came from a single mass deposit in central Utah,
near the town of Price.
Fossil measures: 22" long x 12.5" wide.
|

'Compy' Fossil
(Compsognathus)

|

|
Compy
The Compsognathus or "Compy" in Jurassic Park and Lost World, was a tiny hen-sized carnivorous dinosaur. It lived in Europe 150 million years ago.
The fossil remains (there are only two specimens in existence) were found in the German state of Bavaria, near the Solnhofen limestone quarry pits. These are the same sites as where the famous Archaeopteryx specimens were discovered. We offer for sale the first and most famous specimen.
Fossil measures: 11" long x 12.75" wide.
|

Turtle Fossil
(Eubaena)

|

|
Turtle
The The original fossil of this extinct Turtle was found in Wyoming, USA. It lived during the Eocene age.
Fossil measures: 12.75" long x 9.25" wide.

Fossil Sets

|
All specimens in our fossil sets are FULL sized cast replicas from molds of the original fossils.
They are not reductions or sculptures.
Twenty years was spent collecting the 14 skulls used in these collections
(two in the Dinosaur kit & 12 in the Dawn of Life kit).
These replicas are accurate down to very fine detail. They are colored in realistic shades... fine enough for actual scientific research. They are excellent for classroom instruction or museum exhibition.
Many fossil hunters use them for field identification too.
Fossil collection kits come with introductory information sheets, and a timeline.
Each individual specimen comes in a zip-lock bag with I.D. label. |

Dinosaur Museum

|

|

|
|
The Dinosaur Museum Set is totally dedicated to the dinosaurs. It leads off with two skulls of early dinosaurs (one is a baby).
The kit includes 10 specimens: dinosaur skin, footprint, eggshell fragment, several teeth and a brain cast!
Dinosaur Museum Kit: $30.00 | |

Dawn of Life

|

|

|
|
The Dawn of Life contains twelve skulls.
The kit includes 12 specimens: Pantylus (amphibian), Toosuchus (amphibian), Trimerorhachis (amphibian), Tersomius (amphibian), Captorhinus (early reptile), Oedaleops (pelycosaur), Suminia (mammal-like reptile), Thrinaxodon (mammal-like reptile), Euparkeria (dinosaur ancestor), Archeopteryx (early bird), Alligator Eubena (turtle).

Fireflies

|
|
Real Fireflies (Lightning Bugs) for classroom analysis or insect collectors. We collect these specimens in Michigan and pack them live. Although they are packed & shipped live, don't expect them to arrive that way.
Fireflies produce a "cold light" that contains no infrared or ultraviolet wavelengths. This chemically produced light from the lower abdomen is most often yellow/green in color, but Fireflies have been known to produce a variety of colors in wavelengths from 510 to 670 nanometers.
The light production in fireflies is due to a type of chemical reaction called bioluminescence. This process occurs in specialized light-emitting organs, usually on a firefly's lower abdomen. The enzyme Luciferase acts on the Luciferin, in the presence of Magnesium ions, ATP, and Oxygen to produce light.
Fireflies vary quite a bit in size,
but our specimens are generally around 3/4" long .

Human Skeleton

Life sized skeleton models are fantastic tools that can be used by doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, teachers, students, artists, et. Skeleton is fully articulated; joints bend cartridge flexes, and even some teeth are removable. The model is mounted on a heavy-duty steel stand with a wheeled cast iron base. This skeleton is designed for hands-on learning and is durable enough for years and years of student use and abuse. Life-sized skeleton models are ideal for: - Patient education - Life-sized skeleton models have detailed bone structure to help demonstrate the nuances of the human skeletal system. Doctors & Chiropractors can use them for quick and easy demonstration to patients.
- Instructional usage - Great for use in the classroom. Full skeleton models allows teachers to show the human skeleton in realistic life sized appearance
- Studying - These skeletons are great for students trying to learn the components and structure of the human skeleton.
- Artistic representations - many art schools use skeleton models as props and models.

Dissecting Kit

14 Quality Stainless Steel dissecting instruments in a zippered pouch. Set includes Scalpel Blade (sterilized with gamma radiation), Blunt Forceps, Scissors, Teasing Needle, Dropper, Ruler, Tweezers, and many more of the more common dissecting instruments as shown in the image above. Perfect for the anatomy/biology student, or use to take apart your favorite pet and see what's inside (we're just kidding).
